Today we'll take an early morning trip Northeast of Panama City to the Chagres National Park. Here you'll experience the culture and history of a native Embrea Indian village. You'll take a canoe trip upstream to the village where you'll transfer to wearing a harness to prepare for the next part of the adventure. After a quick boat ride, you'll be trekking through the heart of the rain forest. Your guide will direct you towards the flora and fauna that make up this rich and vibrant environment as you make your way through the dense vegetation. Within an hour on the trek you'll reach the Iguana Creek, where you'll rappel down the slippery, 20 meter rock face. You'll then disengage and have a quick swim through the cools falls' pool while you wait for you fellow travelers. After some more hiking through the unpredictable jungle, we'll take some canoes to a nearby Embera Village to relax and eat some lunch cooked by the local Indians. Transportation, canoe, bilingual adventure specialist, lunch, bottled water, entrance fees, and all equipment are included in this tour as part of the Panama Jungle Travel Package. After the trek through the jungle, you'll return for a solid rest at the lodge in the Gamboa Rainforest Resort.

Day

Another early morning start to a full day of exploring on the third day of the Panama Jungle Travel Package. You'll be picked up at 7:00 am and taken on a short drive to the start of the Camino de Cruces Trail, which was the old “Royal Road” the Spanish empire at one time used to transfer gold and silver from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic Coast on their way to Spain. Some of the original cobblestone still lies in the road. The road was complete around 1550 by Spanish Conquistadors and in 1671, the dreaded Welsh pirate Henry Morgan went along this road to sack Panama City. It now lies within the Soberania National Park, an area well known to have Howler monkeys, Coati, Collared anteaters, Iguana, and Agouties. You'll have the chance to do some birdwatching here as well with the possibility of seeing several different kinds of tropical birds. Included on this day of your Panama Jungle Travel Package are all transfers, a box lunch, bottled water, park entrance fees, and a bilingual guide. You'll stay the night at the Gamboa Forest and rest up for the next day of fun on your Panama Jungle Travel Package.
